Step:

  1. cream together butter and sugar until fluffy

  2. add egg, mix well

  3. sift together dry ingredients, add a little at a time to butter mixture

  4. mix until well blended

  5. add carrot, raisins, and nuts. mix thoroughly

  6. drop by teaspoonful onto greased cookie sheet

  7. bake at 350°F until golden, about 8 to 10 minutes

  8. cool on rack.

  13. 1 cup chopped pecans or other nut
